Empowering strategic minds and fostering a community of critical thinkers, the Chess Club at St. John's Prep seeks to inspire a passion for the game among students of all levels. Our mission is to cultivate intellectual growth, sportsmanship, and camaraderie through the art and strategy of chess. We aim to provide a welcoming space where members can develop their skills, engage in friendly competition, and forge lasting connections.

 

Meetings take place  after school, providing a tranquil environment for members to engage in informal matches, enhancing their skills and strategic thinking. Our diverse membership includes beginners discovering the game to seasoned players competing in tournaments. Students are encouraged to join matches at any time, fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
