Admissions Procedure

Freshman Year

Eighth grade students seeking admission must successfully complete eighth grade and include St. John’s Prep as one of their choices on the TACHS entrance exam in November. This exam is administered by the Diocese in the fall.  Registration for the TACHS exam can be completed by mail, the internet or telephone.

Paper applications for the TACHS exam may be obtained from:

  • Catholic elementary school or St. John’s Prep
  • Religious Education offices
  • Parishes
  • Public elementary schools

Public school students must submit the Applicant Record form to their current teacher/guidance counselor. This completed form should be sent to St. John’s Prep admissions office by December:
