Faculty Support

St. John's Prep offers comprehensive coursework and services with the goal of helping students to succeed. Students are encouraged to check their teacher's "extra help" schedule and attend morning/ afternoon department review sessions whether or not they are experiencing academic difficulty.

 

Academic Support Tutoring Center

Individual teachers will hosting a simultaneous in-person classroom and Zoom tutoring sessions each week.
 
Zoom Tutoring Sessions:You must register for Zoom tutoring sessions. Once you register, you will be given the Zoom link and may continue to access the session each week.
 
In-person Classroom Tutoring Sessions: Students can show up on the appropriate day/time, classrooms are listed.
 
  • Morning session: 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
  • Afternoon session: 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
 
  • Monday morning: Mr. Farren, Science, 118S
  • Monday afternoon: Mr. Tasso, Math ALGEBRA, 105S
  • Tuesday morning: Ms. Zapata, Spanish, 206S
  • Tuesday afternoon: Ms. Moore, Math GEOMETRY, 205S

St. John's University Writing Center

Students needing help with writing and English language learning will find support in the SJU Writing Center, which offers workshops on writing and communication. Please contact the English Department Chair, Ms. Prager at [email protected].

 

Guidance Department

Beginning in freshman year, the Guidance Department offers workshops on a wide range of topics related to academic strategies, study skills, personal development, SAT/ACT Prep, Naviance Student Connection and the SJP experience.
