Irish Culture Club
The Irish Culture Club celebrates and explores the music, dance, food, culture, history, and politics of Ireland through poetry, film, literature, discussion, and other activities. All students are welcome to join at any time.
Members of the Irish Culture Club have explored their interests outside of school by venturing to places such as The Lower East Side Tenement Museum, the New York Irish Center, Ellis Island, the Irish Hunger Memorial, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Past activities have also included marching in the Sunnyside St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, baking Irish scones, attending Irish film festivals, gathering for monthly dinners, visiting local Irish restaurants, and hosting guest speakers.
The Irish Culture Club also works in conjunction with other St. John’s Prep Clubs to support various charitable causes and fundraising efforts.
