SJP Robotics Club Visits Vaughn College

On Monday, May 22, St. John's Prep students interested in Engineering and members of the SJP Robotics Club moderated by Mr. Booth were invited to Vaughn College in East Elmhurst for a Robotics Demonstration and a tour. The students met with the 2016 VEX Championship Robotics Team at the college and had the chance to operate the robot they designed using handheld controls. These robots were created in the Mechatronics Laboratory located within Vaughn College's campus. Our students were then treated to a tour of the school that offers majors such as Engineering, Technology, Mechatronics, Aviation, and Management. The most fun part of the tour for the students and chaperones was the visit to the flight simulator lab. They were also able to watch planes take off and land from the tower that connects the buildings at the college.
