Message from SJP Principal

Dear SJP Families,

This week it was announced that NYC Public Schools plan to close on November 19; however, St. John's Prep remains open for in-person instruction per our hybrid learning model. Our scholarship exam on November 21 for prospective students will also go ahead as planned. We are confident that St. John's Prep continues to be a safe environment due to our rigorous enforcement of the current health and safety protocols. We have been inspected repeatedly by the Health Department and have passed every inspection.

All our students and faculty wear masks throughout the day, they continue to be seated six feet apart in every classroom, and our cleaning protocols and safety guidelines continue to be the school’s priority. The classrooms and restrooms are continually cleaned throughout the day and every Friday evening the entire building is cleaned via fogging. As we reported earlier this week, there has only been one confirmed case of COVID-19 since we reopened in September.

As an added precaution for all families during Thanksgiving week, classes for all cohorts will be on Zoom both Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24. Students are expected to report to their classes beginning at 8:30 am on both days.

Thank you for your support in ensuring our students follow guidelines for health and safety including the MyMedBot form, social distancing, and mask wearing. I wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Maria Johnson
Principal, St. John's Prep
