Important Update on Distance Learning

Dear St. John’s Prep Community,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare our community to transition to a distance learning model. We are deeply grateful for the trust that you place in us every day, and especially during this time.

For the foreseeable future (until at least April 20, 2020) we will have classes exclusively online. St. John’s Prep is not closed but rather open via online learning. It is important that we keep our students engaged and active in the learning process. Learning and development of our students will continue and they will receive challenging and engaging lessons.

You have been emailed the SJP Distance Learning Agreement along with your student’s class schedule. We ask that you read it carefully and review the Distance Learning agreement with your child. Students will be expected to complete their assigned coursework just as they would while attending classes on campus. This week students are expected to be on Google Classroom and work on teacher assignments. Class instruction using the Zoom video conference platform will begin next Monday, March 23, at 9am. We ask all students to download Zoom onto their devices, so they will be able to participate in their scheduled classes.

Our faculty is preparing for our transition to distance learning. We tremendously appreciate the faculty’s efforts to ensure continuity of instruction for our students. Every one of them has stepped up, and we are proud to be their colleagues.

We realize that you may have additional questions during the coming weeks. St. John’s Prep will email you and update our website with the latest information. As a school, we are here for your child’s success, and if you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

While there is uncertainty about what is to come in the weeks ahead, we will always remain faithful to the mission and educational ideals of St. John’s Prep. Please join us in prayer as we ask God to help and guide our students, our families, and our world.

Sincerely,

Nuala Martinez
