The Debate Team:  Will meet next week to prepare our arguments pro and con for the following topic:  "On balance, the benefits of creating the US Space Force outweighing the harms."  We will meet both Monday and Tuesday next week at 2:45P.M. in 201N and on Zoom to prepare for the Next Tournament, which is online on Saturday March 13th.  Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81793283390   All SJP students are welcome to join the team or just attend meetings to learn how to debate.  For info, students can email Ms. Bové at [email protected] and they will be added to the list to receive announcements and the Champions Brief, which outlines arguments for and against the current topic.

 

The New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) awards over $50,000 in scholarship funding to students in New York State each year, with awards ranging from $4,000 to $12,000 per scholarship. For high school seniors interested in pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an environmental major.    Scholarship Descriptions and Applications are available at nywea.org. The deadline for applications is tomorrow at 5 PM EST.



Applications for the Robert W. Greene Summer Institute for High School Journalists at Stony Brook University’s School of Communication and Journalism are now available. For any students interested in journalism, media, photography, video production or writing.  The Greene Institute is a one-week program for aspiring reporters in their sophomore or junior year of high school. The program accepts students from across Long Island and NYC. This year’s program will again be conducted virtually.  https://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/journalism/student-exp/greene.php
