Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum recently launched its sixth annual National High School Design Competition, challenging teens with: What would you design to create a healthier world? The competition is free to enter with entries due on February 22, 2021. Prizes include design process mentorship, a Family Membership to Cooper Hewitt, and the opportunity to meet with designers and other experts around the winner’s interest in design. The State Pre-College Enrichment Program hosted by the Office of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs is offering a FREE SPRING SAT PREP Course on Saturdays from February to May (9am – 11am). Students accepted into the course also become part of the S-PREP Program. Due to COVID-19 the course is being offered online. Course is open to NYS 10th & 11th Graders. Health Profession Recruitment/Exposure Program: (HPREP) is a ten-week program for 10th and 11th grade students in New York City. High school students, from underrepresented minorities in medicine, are given the opportunity to meet and learn from physicians and other health professionals at WCM. HPREP students are paired with a medical student mentor, who they work with to write a college essay, resume, and research paper. Students participate in an anatomy lab presentation, and other practical workshops discussing the college application process, how to write a research paper, and applying for financial aid. The HPREP 2021 application is now available. Application deadline: Monday, January 4, 2021. Applications for The Rockefeller University's Summer Science Research Program (SSRP) are now OPEN. SSRP is designed to offer intellectually curious, highly motivated high school students with a strong aptitude in the life or physical sciences a total-immersion experience in laboratory research.
