The St. John’s Prep Robotics Program continues to grow in its research and experimentation. Gerard Demarco SJP’ 82, drawing from his global position in the tech world, has served as a mentor and an inspiration in motivating SJP students to become more involved in this ever expanding field. Marc Burgos, SJP’ 11, an honors student at NYU’s School of Engineering meets with students weekly in the robotics lab as they learn the fundamentals, develop problem solving skills, employ critical thinking and incorporate all aspects of the STEM program into their specific projects. This program instills a love of learning that will provide students with the tools, training and collaborative working environment necessary to compete in this exciting field. Students have designed robotics with LEGOs and have built race cars and spinning toys, then programmed them with the visual drag and drop software.

Come join the fun! Future competitions await. New members are always welcomed.
