Spanish Culture Club

The Spanish Culture Club is dedicated to the exploration and celebration of the language, customs, and traditions of Spain and Latin America.  During meetings, students sharpen their language skills through the reading and discussion of major Spanish writers such as Cervantes and Garcia-Lorca, as well as through selected Bible excerpts in Spanish.  Students also learn and recite traditional prayers in Spanish.  Any student with a passion or simply a curiosity towards Spanish culture is welcome to join at any time to discover the vastness and variety of Spanish culture.

The Spanish Culture Club explores Spanish culture through film, arts and crafts, music, dance, and food.Throughout the year, members of the Spanish Culture Club celebrate religious holidays such as La Senora de Guadalupe, El Dia de los Muertos, and La Epifania.  They also organize the St. John’s Prep Latin American Heritage Celebration every fall and hold bake sales to raise funds for charitable causes.
