Railroad Club

The Railroad Club is a club comprised of students fascinated by actual or model railroads. Students are provided with multiple opportunities to explore their interests and understand the unique place of railroads in American history, particularly New York City. Students in all grades are welcome to join at any time.

Every Christmas, members of the Railroad Club build model trains for display in St. John’ Prep’s beautiful library. Throughout the year, students venture beyond the school to expand their knowledge of railroads. This has included a "Director’s Tour" of the New York City Transit Museum, a tour of the Christmas train station at the CityCorp Center, an “Insider’s Tour” of Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station, and tours of various subway facilities, train shows, and railroad sites.

The Railroad Club has also held raffles for a Christmas train set in which all proceeds were donated to charity.
