Polish Culture Club

The Polish Culture Club welcomes students of all backgrounds to discover the riches of Polish culture. Students learn about Polish traditions, foods, songs, language, and people through discussion, field trips, and various other activities. Any student interested or passionate about Poland is welcome to join at any time.

In the past, members of the Polish Culture Club have participated in the Pulaski Day Parade on 5th Avenue and the St. John’s Prep International Day, and have also dined in Polish restaurants, viewed Polish films, and ice skated in Central Park. Students in the Polish Culture Club also share photos and stories of Polish history and experiences and discuss famous Polish figures in history, music, and science. Members learn about Name Days and how to sing Polish songs like “Sto Lat,” the birthday song. Additionally, students share recipes and sample Polish foods like pierogi, chrusciki, kotley, kielbasa, and kompot.
