Fall 2020 Reopening Plans

Letter from the SJP President and Principal - August 6, 2020

To the St. John's Prep Community,

We hope that you and your family are doing well.

In just a few weeks, the new school year will begin. We have been busy preparing for a safe reopening and we write to share our plans with you. We are excited to welcome students back to campus for either a full reopening or a hybrid learning model, depending on the latest state and health guidelines and mandates. A return to the campus is predicated on two important factors: Safety and Flexibility.

Our plan covers all aspects of school life, from new health and safety procedures and classroom transitions and technology to spirituality, athletics, and extracurriculars. When our students return in September, each class year will have its own Orientation Day in order to share our new procedures, to learn our new processes, and to build relationships and mutual care. We will all need to work together and be ready and willing to share a culture of responsibility and cooperation in order to protect the health of all.

St. John's Prep is committed to keeping you informed as our plans will continue to change. Since the COVID-19 pandemic keeps evolving and shifting and guidance and mandates from the Governor’s Office and public health officials continue to develop, our plans will have to adapt. We will update you regularly via email and our school website.

Please download and review the plan. If you have any questions or concerns, please review our FAQs about reopening, which address questions about schedules, social distancing, mask wearing, more.

Thank you for our cooperation and flexibility as we all work for a successful school year. We look forward to welcoming our students this fall. We look forward to continuing the Vincentian tradition of excellence.

Sincerely,

Nuala Martinez
