Our counseling program at St. John's Preparatory aims to foster the holistic development of each student, nurturing their intellectual, spiritual, athletic, moral, and social growth throughout their tenure at the Prep. Working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and administrators, our counseling staff strives to shape well-integrated individuals.

Student Engagement

Students will engage with their counselors in diverse settings, including guidance classes, as well as in individual and small group meetings.

Guidance Period

Throughout the year, students will participate in guidance classes led by our school counselors. These sessions, rooted in the principles of Vincentian education, cover essential topics such as successful Prep transitions, organizational and study skills, active engagement in academic pursuits and extracurriculars, emotional and social growth, and an introduction to standardized tests like ACT, PSAT, and SAT, along with College Admissions Counseling.

Individual Consultations

Our school counselors are available for one-on-one sessions with students. These meetings serve to gather insights into students' academic progress, extracurricular involvement, social interests, and family dynamics to offer personalized support. They also support them in their journey toward becoming well-rounded individuals. These sessions encourage students to take ownership of their intellectual pursuits and personal growth. Meetings can be scheduled by either the student or counselor, and we strongly encourage students and parents to reach out with any concerns or questions they may have.
